About National Safe Place Network

Mission

Ensuring an effective system of response for youth in crisis through public and private partnerships at a local, state, and national level.

Vision

National Safe Place Network envisions a world where all youth are safe.

National Safe Place Network (NSPN) provides quality training and technical support for youth and family service organizations across the country. As a membership organization, NSPN offers an array of services tailored to meet agency needs in the most cost-efficient manner. These services include individual site visits, conferences, online training curricula, grant reviews, and more. NSPN is committed to agency growth and development, education, professional training and youth advocacy work.

Along with providing training and technical assistance as a membership association, NSPN also operates nationally recognized programs including, Safe Place and HTR3.

History

National Safe Place Network has been providing training, consultation, membership services, and resources to human service agencies since 1977. The name represents the merger of two entities, National Safe Place and the Youth and Family Services Network (YFSN). This long-term partnership resulted in the two organizations becoming one in 2013. The combined knowledge, skills, staff, and substantial history of positive impact have created a for-purpose entity committed to partnering with local, state, and national organizations to ensure all youth are safe.

The NSPN family is proud of its history and eager to share some of it with you. Here are some membership moments of the last 40 years - from bus rides to the Hill to advocate, T.A.P.P. retreats for youth services providers, Executive Leadership Retreats, national training and networking conferences (with the Runaway Games), to recent Child and Youth Care: Foundations courses and certifications, Youth ThriveTM trainings, and personal support for member organizations.
